Short Nozzle listing?

#1 Post by Tom C. »

Hi all and Happy New Year, bit late I know.

I've been reading some topics here and at AIG re the Short Nozzle versions of the NG, but am still unsure what to do with my installed repaints.
Is there by any chance a list of Airlines that use either or both versions?

The best I can find so far is the following by Mariano;
Keep in mind the short nozel model. Pretty much every 737NG rolling off the line since it was introduced, certainly all the brand new ones, use it. So your Westjet, Garuda, and Turkish -900ER should all use the short nozzle.
If I ever get around to painting again, I want to make sure I get it right from the start.

Edit;
Bit more research now shows it's a recent arrival.
Garuda Indonesia Retrojet PK-GFM & GFN have the standard model.
Also up to PK-GFP are the standard nozzle.
PK-GFQ (cn 39416/3766) has the short nozzle.
Also using it is the 123rd logo jet by JB, but he has it set to the standard in his repaint.

Edit 2;
As far as I can tell, all of the SWA fleet should have the SN model set too.

This is decided per airframe, if the aircraft has short nozzles in real life you should change the model designation in your aircraft.cfg no change is really needed in the texture side.
As for the SWA fleet, indeed every -800 that rolled of the assembly line has short nozzles, I have yet to see a -700 one but nothing is stopping them from ordering new ones fitted with short nozzles or retrofitting them in the future.

Basically so, every repaint I install I should check up on the various websites to see which nozzle it has?
It's not assigned via serial number then, and entirely possible you could have both variants coming off the line as we discuss it yet?

Just installing Rwandair 9XR-WG, faib_738rwd_fsx.zip by Philippe Tabatchnik.

Looking at the pictures above, shouldn't that be;

That's correct, Tom.

Though I think all the new ones got these. On the other hand all the older 737 (with CFM 56-7B engines) can be retrofitted with the new CFM 56-7BE engines and all the other PIP features.
