Last time on Star Trek The Next Generation

#1 Post by ewerber »

The Next Generation is back! and in HD!

The first NG paint kit for FSX is complete, its off course the longest variant the -900.

Enjoy some 3DS MAX renders while work continues on bringing her into FSX.

Here are the first screen shots from inside FSX, note that since the renders I posted the following changes were made to the model:
1. Vertical stabilizer thickness was adjusted
2. front portion of the wing root was considerably adjusted to conform to NG specs.

Among the many improvements over the AIA NG model there is now discrete mapping for the bottom of the wing root which allows for more accurate night lighting.

The 900 with no special domes specified.

Here is the 900 in ER configuration with an Aft LiveTV staelite dome configured from the texture, only missing the winglets.

Some Night shots.

Note:(almost) all of NG's were without coroguard and center-back(not overwing) door of some -900ER(e.g. United-Continental) were cabin size window.

Great job, Erez, but just my two cents - don't forget those who are still using FS9 (at least mainly).

As here and otherwhere often already said - a native FS9 paintkit (build from scratch) will be very welcome. You mentioned it in your readme's, that size reduction will come out with artifacts, on everything, basic details as well as painters work. Regardless whether you're using DXTBmp or Imagetool or anything else for resizing.

Have sharp lines or other things in your mind and the results of incorrect painting... Ok, back in my cave now ;)
Always happy landings

A native FS9 PK is available for the NG's like was made available for the Classics, Its not built from scratch but I have rebuilt many parts specifically to make FS9 repaints look good.

Here are some previews of SWA repaints I am working on to have a complete color matched SWA package.

Everything you see here will be available for FS9 and FSX simultaneously.

No idea about a release date, Sebi. It'll be released when it's ready.
