Hello,
thank you for your work.
Unfortunately I receive in connection with your new 747-8 a
Visual C++ Error, Runtime Error R6025 -Pure Virtual Function Call
It is definatley a traffic problem with your new 747-8 because the error appears after installing the files and when the 747-8 traffic is turned off it stops crashing.
I use FS2004. All 747-8 textures are DXT3 (1024 x 1024). MDL File Date October, 18 2014 with a size of 1,488. kb.
Can you help me?
Greetings from Germany

Re: Pure Virtual Function Call with B747-8 (FS2004)
A quick Google search suggests this might be caused from corruption of your effects texture files.
The 747-8 does not come with a custom effect texture or overwrites any exiting texture but it does come with a custom effect (.fx file) that uses the default fx_2.bmp file with a date of 18/06/2001 9:14 p.m, if your file is changed(or missing) in some way this might lead to the problem.
In any case FAIB is unable to support this beyond this point as the model clearly works for many FS9 users so the problem is localized to your install,
I would suggest restoring your original effect textures or not using the custom FAIB LED strobe effect and see if the problem goes away.

Re: Pure Virtual Function Call with B747-8 (FS2004)
Hi,
Thank you for your quick response.
My fx_2.bmp is from the date of June 19, 2001 03:14:20. I will try it with another fx_ file , test it and give you feedback
Thanks
Holger

Re: Pure Virtual Function Call with B747-8 (FS2004)
hi,
sorry but the problem is not fixed yet
I changed fx_2.bmp in the Effects\texture directory with with the original from DVD. After that, i can see any B747-8 at the gate and run on the taxiway. Takeoff and Landings are now also ok ; observed with "most realistic ai".
Before changing fx_2.bmp FS2004 crashed when B747-8 was established by radio.
Fs2004 now crash with a Pure Virtual Function Call in Flight (regardless of the flight area and the length)
As a next step i changed the aircraft.cfg (deleting all custom effect texture to Shockwave)
[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
// FAIB B747-8 Non Wing Flex Lights
light.1 = 3, -207.96, 0.00, 10.35, fx_navwhi
light.2 = 2, -207.4, 0.00, 9.4, fx_shockwave_strobe
light.3 = 1, -5.2, 0.00, 19.0, fx_beacon
light.4 = 1, -67.5, 0.00, -7.66, fx_beacon
light.5 = 3, -136.84, -108.18, 7.39, fx_navred
light.6 = 3, -136.84, 108.18, 7.39, fx_navgre
light.7 = 2, -137.45, -108.42, 7.43, fx_shockwave_strobe
light.8 = 2, -137.45, 108.42, 7.43, fx_shockwave_strobe
light.9 = 5, -49.0, 14.8, -0.9, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_747_rw
light.10 = 5, -49.0, -14.8, -0.9, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_747_lw
FS2004 still crashed in Flight.
As a next step i changed the aircraft.cfg
atc_model=B744
in order to exclude a mistake with 748. On Ground ATC addresses the 747-8 correctly as 747
..but FS2004 still crashed in Flight.
As a next step i compile all B747-8 Flightplans new to exclude other errors
FS2004 still crashed in Flight.
ACA2005 shows no errors; FS-Repaint shows no errors, FS2004 runs great after i delete all 747-8i files.
The problem is a bit difficult to isolate but I want to find the error
Do you have any other ideas?
Thanks again
Holger
